Magistras Mirjana and Nika Brlečić unhesitatingly accepted the invitation for "Priroda liječi" to join a socially responsible project dedicated to protecting bee colonies and preserving biodiversity, developed by the company Plan Bee.

PLAN BEE

Trought its activities, Plan Bee raises awareness about the fact that bees are at serious risk of extinction - and that their disappearance would threaten humanity itself. Since as much as 75% of global food production relies on pollinators, primarily bees, concrete action is necessary to protect them and increase their population. 

ESG Initiative Project 

This project is a part of an ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) initiative. It includes activities for the preservation of nature and biodiversity, as well as educational programs for local communities and children, aimed at developing their sensitivity toword nature and the ecosystem from an early age.

WITHOUT BEES, THERE IS NO SURVIVAL ON EARTH 

"If the bee disappeared off the surface of the globe, then man would have only four years of life left." - Albert Einstain. 

As part od this initiative, a beehive branded with "Priroda liječi" logo is now located in Istria, housing a colony of approximatey 50,000 bees. A single colony pollinates about two million flowers a day. This means that the bee colonies from the "Priroda liječi" hives will pollinate roughly two million flowers daily - totaling a staggering 10 billion flowers per year!

The exhibition was organized by the World Intellectual Property Invention Association (WIIPA) and brought together 346 innovations from 18 countries. Nikel Cosmetics (Priroda liječi d.o.o.) was the most successful Croatian exhibitor.

The creator of the innovation “Perfect Anti-Aging Product” is Mirjana Brlečić, M.Pharm.

The innovation was presented to the expert jury by Nika Brlečić Uroić, University Master of Pharmacy and Pharmacy Manager.

The Zagreb Innovators’ Association awarded Control 365 Insert Aqua Cream, formulated with water from a Swiss glacier, as the Best Zagreb Innovation of 2021, and presented the annual Eduard Slavoljub Penkala Award to its creator, MPharm. Mirjana Brlečić.

To honour the renowned Croatian inventor, Ing. Eduard Slavoljub Penkala, the Zagreb Innovators’ Association established the annual E.S. Penkala Award in 1993 to recognise the best Zagreb innovation.

The purpose of the award is to promote inventive work in the city, support the creativity of leading innovators and celebrate the legacy of Eduard Slavoljub Penkala. It is awarded annually with the financial support of the City Office for Education, Culture and Sports.

This award first recognised the creator of the Nikel cosmetic line, Mirjana Brlečić, MPharm, early in her career in 2008 for “NiKEL, Croatian Haute Couture – natural cosmetics with a pharmacist’s signature.”

In 2021, Mirjana Brlečić once again received this prestigious honour for her innovative CONTROL 365 - INSERT AQUA 24-hour hydration cream, crafted with pure Swiss glacier water.

Mirjana Brlečić, MPharm, the CEO of Priroda liječi d.o.o., was awarded the “Vladimir Hudorović – Innovation for Success” award for the most successful businesswoman in Croatia in 2016.

The “Vladimir Hudorović” award for the business person of the year was founded by the Public Open University Zagreb. Vladimir Hudorović was born in Zagreb. He lost his parents when he was 13 and, left on his own, funded his own schooling and got a master’s degree in engineering. He loved sports, people, and Zagreb. A perfectionist in his work, he worked on numerous technological advances, including improvements in the Badel factory. Afterwards, he worked as a consultant and project leader for mechanical engineering works. Some of his most significant projects in Zagreb are the National and University Library, palace Dverce, Institute of Lexicography, crematorium, and Tkalčićeva – Radićeva – Krvavi most street block. During the 1987 Summer Universiade, he worked on the renovation of Jarun, Dinamo stadium, Medveščak sports centre... The “Vladimir Hudorović – Innovation for Success” award was founded in honour of this exceptional man, who was truly loved by the people.

INPEX University is held alongside the exhibition, and it includes a range of lectures, presentations, and open discussions. Inpex 2008 showcased 2100 exhibits from the USA and 20 other countries. NiKEL, Pharmacist Formulated Skincare was awarded a silver medal in the prestigious BIOLOGY RELATED PRODUCTS category. NiKEL rose to the very top as an individual, personal project, among innovations which were mainly presented by teams of scientists from international universities. The gold medal in this category was won by a team of scientists from the University of Malaya for plant indicators for early virus discovery.

The Zagreb Association of Innovators has been selecting and awarding the best Zagreb innovations since 1993. The award is named after the famous Croatian inventor and engineer Eduard Slavoljub Penkala. The goal of the award is to re-establish the work of E. S. Penkala as the first modern Croatian inventor, and to award the best of the best: the innovation from Zagreb which sets itself apart from the rest both technologically and commercially.

INOVA is a traditional innovation exhibition which has been showcasing the biggest achievements of Croatian innovation since 1971. INOVA is a driver and a symbol of innovation in Croatia. Throughout its existence, INOVA has brought together, encouraged, and presented thousands of Croatian and hundreds of international innovations to the public. NiKEL, Pharmacist Formulated Skincare, was awarded a gold medal, and its author Mirjana Brlečić was awarded the title of First Lady of Croatian Innovation.

Gold for NiKEL Probiotic Cream

ARCA, International Exhibition of New Ideas, Technologies and Products, Zagreb, Croatia

After a year of collecting feedback and recording results using a scientific research methodology, NiKEL Probiotic Cream, Croatia’s first probiotic cream and dermatologically tested, was presented for the first time at the ARCA innovation show. That same year, under the regulations then in force, the Croatian Ministry of Health and Social Welfare classified it as a special-purpose cosmetic for the care of severely damaged skin. The cream’s formula has remained unchanged ever since. NiKEL cosmetics, created by Mirjana Brlečić, M.Pharm., was awarded a gold medal, with NiKEL Probiotic Cream given special recognition.
