HOW TO GET RID OF CELLULITE

"Oh, that cellulite, can't seem to get rid of it... I only like the orange peel in cakes, not on my thighs... I can't see it there! I walk, exercise, watch my diet, but it's still there... What should I do?"

26.05.2023

Perhaps there isn't a woman who hasn't sometimes looked at her thighs in the mirror, gently (or not so gently) pinching the slightly (or more than slightly) uneven skin, with hills and valleys seeming to emerge from the depths hidden beneath the top layer of the epidermis.

And how many times have we, looking at that dreaded cellulite, thought about how much easier it would be if we reasoned in the style of an average man. Because surely we've come across that joke somewhere, the one some guys like to put on their shirts, proudly proclaiming to the world: "A man without a belly is like a Mercedes without a logo!". Yes, it would be easier for us women if we were like that too. Forget about cellulite, we could have something printed on our shirts like: "A woman without cellulite is like a sky without stars!" but, we all know that's beyond our mental code.

We've long realized that the male and female perceptions of body aesthetics differ, and that women simply don't have that dose of indifference to proudly wave something they consider a flaw and something that annoys them, as if they were waving a flag... And what should we do? To start with, let's remind ourselves what cellulite is and how it forms. And then, of course, explore how to get rid of it. For consolation, it's all in our hands! Let's begin...

What is cellulite and how does it form?

Unfortunately, cellulite is one of the problems that most women have to deal with. It most commonly appears after the age of thirty, but it can be seen even on the thighs of very young girls and women.

We become most aware of the problem of cellulite when we start preparing for summer, and the light in the dressing room of the shopping center, where we try on swimsuits, cruelly exposes the extent of the devastation. Because that's exactly how we perceive the view of the upper part of our legs and buttocks if they're affected by cellulite – as devastation.

I have to understand that cellulite is not a seasonal problem just because we become aware of it while trying on a swimsuit...

So, what is cellulite?

In short, it's tissue composed of fat, water, and toxins, similar in composition to gelatin. It is located three to five millimeters below the surface of the skin. If not treated regularly and properly, it can become a serious health problem.

Our muscles are surrounded by layers of fatty tissue of varying thickness. This tissue serves as a binder, and around this connective, fatty tissue is fluid that serves a dual purpose: it supplies it with nutrients and ensures the removal of toxins.

The fatty tissue is connected by a network of fibers composed of elastin and collagen. When this system functions properly, toxins are eliminated from the body. However, when the system is disrupted, toxins do not leave it but start to accumulate, and the connective tissue becomes saturated with fluid full of waste substances. Over time, this fluid begins to thicken, becoming harder and harder, and over time, pockets are formed, which acquire the recognizable external appearance – the dreaded orange peel or cellulite!

Why does cellulite form?

There are several approaches to interpreting the reasons for the formation of cellulite. Experts are divided. Some believe that it is primarily a genetic problem, so a woman who has genetic inheritance is at a disadvantage from the start compared to one who does not have cellulite in her female line.

For example, they often explain cellulite in very young girls this way. However, since cellulite sooner or later becomes a problem for almost every woman, it is clear that there is something else besides genetics.

The shortest explanation is that cellulite is tissue composed of fat, water, and toxins, similar in composition to gelatin. It is located just below the surface of the skin. If not treated regularly and properly, it can become a serious health problem.

Another expert approach suggests that the main causes of cellulite formation are improper diet, stress, sedentary lifestyle, lack of physical activity, hormonal changes, and poor circulation. Similarly, cellulite can occur after pregnancy or when a woman takes hormone therapy, resulting in high estrogen levels in the body.

It has been found that sometimes, experiencing trauma can also trigger the appearance of cellulite, so in that case, we can conclude that cellulite is a kind of PTSD that becomes visible on the skin.

Can we take preventive action against cellulite?

Of course, we can! Haven't we said that it's all in our hands? So, first, it is necessary to understand that cellulite is not a seasonal problem just because we become aware of it while trying on a swimsuit, and we usually ignore it because it is hidden under clothing.

Dealing with cellulite should be done throughout the year, and winter is the ideal time to get the body into shape that will make us more satisfied with our bodies and not have too many reasons for self-criticism. So, what should we do? Once again, the logical and accessible answer is to introduce healthy habits into our lifestyle.

There are many things we can do for ourselves, our health, and to manage cellulite, and we offer you 10 tips that would be wise to apply:

  1. Since adequate fluid intake is necessary for eliminating toxins from the body, it's important to drink enough water. Plain water is best, but herbal teas and vegetable or meat broths will also be beneficial. Limit alcohol and coffee intake. Turn to herbal teas, such as nettle tea, which promote circulation and detoxification processes in the body. Avoid consuming carbonated drinks and juices! This is not a desirable way to hydrate!

  2. Healthy eating is the key to many health and aesthetic issues. Reduce the intake of refined foods rich in saturated fats and sugars, increase daily consumption of fruits and vegetables, and prioritize fish over meat. Reduce starch and carbohydrate intake, as they bind and retain water, and thus toxins.

  3. Increase intake of vitamin C, potassium, and sulfur (i.e., dietary proteins). It is best to consume berries, bananas, apricots, peaches, vegetables... These nutrients attack cellulite deeply.

  4. Be careful with salt and spices! Overly salty and heavily spiced food results in excess water retention in the body, which is one of the causes of cellulite formation.

  5. Digestion and urination are important! Ensure regular cleansing of the body from toxins by urinating. There are several herbal teas that have beneficial effects. In case you struggle with constipation, dried plums, flaxseed, oatmeal... will be beneficial for regular bowel movements and thus cleansing the body of waste substances.

  6. Physical activity! We know, we know that you often don't feel like it, you're tired, it's hard to establish a habit... It would be ideal to set aside 30 minutes a day for some form of exercise. It can be morning gymnastics and brisk walking in the afternoon or evening. Make use of going to the sea for swimming, as swimming is an ideal way to combat cellulite.

  7. Don't forget – there is no life, health, or good appearance without oxygen! Therefore, ensure an adequate amount of oxygen every day. It's best to spend some time in nature every day. The combination of walking, which provides physical activity, and filling the body with oxygen by being in nature is ideal. Don't worry about sweating because that's a way of eliminating toxins.

  8. Massage of critical body parts also helps, as it stimulates blood and lymph circulation and reduces cellulite deposits. Since the deposits are close to the surface of the skin, the massage doesn't have to be rough, as no massage is good if it crosses the pain threshold. When showering, use a brush or a coarser massage sponge...

  9. Stress is a silent killer and an ideal ally for cellulite. Therefore, for general health, and then certainly for success in combating cellulite, it is good to take a break during the day, set aside at least a little time for relaxation.

  10. Use quality anti-cellulite cream! The active ingredients in it will help improve blood circulation and lymphatic circulation, and applying the cream is actually a gentle massage of critical areas.

Do cellulite creams help?

A good anti-cellulite cream should be part of daily care throughout the year. Only routine and persistence yield results. Regular application of anti-cellulite cream makes the skin firmer and more resistant to cellulite formation, strengthens microcirculation, and contributes to the elimination of harmful substances from the body.

It is desirable to combine daily application of anti-cellulite cream with occasional exfoliation, which removes impurities and dead cells from the surface of the skin. The fight against cellulite is complex and continuous. It's not a 100-meter race. To achieve results, it is necessary to approach it as a long-distance race, which, just like taking care of health in all segments, lasts a lifetime.

Nikel recommendation

Let's repeat - cellulite is a gelatinous accumulation of fat, water, and waste substances just below the skin, so cellulite is characterized by chronic edema. If left untreated, cellulite in the edematous phase will progress to the fibrous phase and then to the painful sclerotic phase.

However, NiKEL has a solution for cellulite removal, which, like all our products, is completely in line with nature. These are 100% natural plant oils, plant extracts, and essences that promote microcirculation, metabolism, and lipolysis and firm the skin. It is extremely effective to first apply the anti-cellulite oil, and then the gel or cream of your choice. Exceptional allies in the fight against cellulite are SILKY Ivy oil, Anti-cellulite oil with grapefruit, and CONTROL 365 Remove Cellulite gel cream. Using these products is recommended for problems with veins and capillaries and poor circulation.
