ORIGINS & DESCRIPTION
It climbs with small roots affixed to the stem mostly on trees up to 25 metres high. It blossoms in summer, while its ash blue fruit ripen in winter. Caution, the ivy fruit is poisonous! Besides climbing, it also crawls on the ground but it never blossoms. The leaves and the peak parts of the stem with flowers have healing properties.

Its main component is glycoside hederyne, but it contains other saponins, organic acids and mineral substances. Even the ancient Druids were aware of ivy´s healing properties.
